Isn't the last veteran (the one with white bearb, glasses and straw hat) Marinescu Cap Tare (Marinescu Strong Head) ? transport pilot who was hit in the head by a wooden propellor - fortunatelly the propeller was the one to brake.

Yes that's Marinescu.
I didn't heard about the mentioned accident (I didn,t met Marinescu in privat yet).
He does have an ugly scar at the lowe jaw, that I was sure it was from a dental abces...
Thinking of what you said,it can be from a propelor.

Who else can you identify? Their names deserve to be known. I'm very interested into knowing who that gentleman in a wheelchair is. Mytzu wrote the veteran pilot lost both legs. Further information on this man would be greately appreciated.

I am very happy that i met you Claudiu and Victor!!!

For the first time i saw a real ceremony and my emotion was high.

Several hours after the ceremony i returned to the Ghencea cemetery and the flowers (coroane de flori) disappeared... i do not know why.....

Very nice pictures Victor. I`ll send mines when i`ll get back to France. I made also some pictures with the graves of some pilots, just for memory, who knows if next year they will still be there.

From my homeland Bacau (Ro) i send to you all my faithfuly regards.

The flowers must have been taken by the "care takers"of the cemetry,in irder to sell them again.Thats the way it is in Romania.
We also made a confusion...
Mr Morariu is not Iosif Morariu, but Ioan Morariu,a IAR 39 pilot who saw no action in the war but flew later a Mig 15 with Dragos Stinghe.
Expert Dan Melinte told me that the pictures he has with Iosif Morariu are diferent..
When I called Morariu,I knew Dan was right.
The person without legs is a mistery to everybody.Even Dicesare, who is sort of a Mafalda and knows everybody didn't know who he was...
I understand that he wrote a book about aviation, and that his legs were amputated lately.

Quality Pictures.

Dobran looks good and modern dressed. I think he will live another 10 years...

Di Cezare looks nice too, I like his decorations, and I also admire the fact that he has the guts to wear the Iron Cross, the original one.

German veterans cannot have it, they must wear a replica that does not have the hooked cross on it. I think that's a bit of a 'hairpull'.

I predict Dobran will outlive Di Cezare.
I wish them health and peacefull years of retirement, to make up for the years of war and exhaustion from earlier days...
