well, go to a computer store and buy it However you will nopt be able to find all series so you will probably have to order it online. Ohh.. you also need a joystick - can't fly it without it.

yup - among others
Depedns what version of IL2 you are running. IAR was not there from first versions, only as a.i. - it appeared later as flyble when I asked for it from Oleg and someone decided to create the cockpit in 3dmax for it. |

after some time i dug out IL2+ACE+PF once again.
while having improved in some areas, like energy fighting and deflection shooting, some things seem to be constant: my success rate landing a Bf 109 (E4 in this case) remains quite bad (like 30% or so). watching the computer land on autopilot i noticed he wouldn't deploy flaps and approach the touchdown at 140. if i try it at that speed i touch down long before the start of the runway. this is what i do: fly at 5-600 m on approach at 250-300 km/h until I'm like 3-4km away. deploy combat-take-off-landing flaps and set the gunsight on the start of the runway while trying to maintain 200 km/h. i tried with 170-180 but i loose altitude too fast and have to accelerate close to the runway. once I'm close to the runway, i start to level the aircraft to that the airspeed drops to about 150, but somehow I have the feeling that I'm not low enough to flare, as I usually touch down too rough and the aircraft bounces a few times back into the air (in a lucky situation) before settling. however i found touchdown on airfields without a paved runway easier, than on paved ones, which regularly break my landing gear. i also find it a bit difficult to compensate for the torque effect on low airspeeds, the Bf 109 apparently having no aileron trim. this regularly throws me off my aligned path and forces me to compensate right before touchdown (albeit with a bit of rudder practice i improved a bit). this seems to be a Bf 109 thing only as I'm having less problems to get a FW190 down and i find the He-111 downright easy to land. maybe anyone with more experience could provide some hints on how to do the landing in a Bf109 properly?
