Hi
I have heard that during service in ARR one of PZL P.23 (it could be in 1941 - this is not sure), had dropted (forc-landing or was shot down into Black See (?) May someone can add some info about this case. Maybe in Rumania are any explorers who decide to pull out this P.23? :-) Regards, Mirek W |

Mirekw,
There are at least 2 ARR planes in a lake in Moldavia, that nobody cares to recover.... That 's the way it is here arownd. At the begining of the 70's there were 2 109 and a 111,on an airfield near Bucharest. What do you think "they "did? Send them to a museum? No way! SCRAPPING them!!!!! |

Yes, it appears that a P.23 was indeed lost in the Black Sea shortly after the war on East started. However, I have no information on the crash's precise location. Gen. Dénes |

It would still be better if these airplanes were saved in a private collection, than just wasted at a bottom of seas, lakes, rivers, etc. |

Do you have more details? Who is the pilot? When and why did he fall? |

There is also a P.Z.L. P.11c in Brates Lake (Vadul lui Isac). It crashed into it in the early days of the war, shot down by Soviet fighters.

Are you sure this is the right map? It shows an airport west of Timişoara. |
