Salutare tuturor!

Thanks in advance....

Here's the first question.

1. I do believe that ARR was using (like the germans) the clock designation system for enemy position. I'm having problems with translating for example "to your 10 o'clock"... I could say "la ora 10 fata de tine", but to me it doesn't sound right.

2. What was the term used for enemy fighter planes? Specifically in the context of "Attack fighters" or "Fighters at 1 o'clock"... same issue with the bombers.

3. How would they say "Out of ammo"?

4. What was the equivalent romanian term for "Staffel"

5. Same problem for the expression "Bombs away". "On final, requesting permission to land", "On the go around", "Return to base", "Stay on course", "Clear my tail" si "Over".

This is about it for now... thanks in advance.

I talked to G-ral Dicezare and he did't told me nothing new to what I wrote you on the PM.
They talked normaly ,even that it doesn't sound like in German or Eanglish.
If they were out of ammo ,they'll say "nu mai am munitie"just like that.
The only new think was that they used to call Russian fighters crows(ciori).
With the airfield they could talked only about 70 km distance.
On landing it wasn't so crawded if you could't land because of onother airplane or other problem, there was a soldier with signat rockets who would fire a rocket in a diferent color.
And ttthats all folks!!!!!

OK,I'll try to write the info/again:
Acording to Ion Dobran and Ioan Marinaciu(gr 9):
The clock methode for the coordinations.
Indieni cu doua pene-P-38
Dandit-enemy plane(fighter)
Mi-e sete -run out of fuel
Venetia-Constanta
Acording To IM when the radio use to intervier with the Russians radio, the Russians use to shout non stop into the microphone in order not to let the Romanian and German fighters to understand each other.
That's about it.

An original document is reproduced on page 210 under the name Cryptographic Elements Specific for FARR in the ROMANIAN AERONAUTICS IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR . It is a genuine order of signals.
During the Tidal Wave operation ( see Batailles Aeriennes no 25 ), Bf 109 pilot Scully Logothety remembered as they refered to the B 24 bombers as "Camioane"= Trucks and were asked by the "Cuib"=nest if they are accompanied by "Motociclisti"= Motor riders .

Have a look in Batailles Aeriennes no 25 - Operation Tidal Wave with myself as the main author and you will find the testimony of an ex Bf 109 pilot, Scully Logothety. He mentioned the enemy bombers as Camioane = Trucks and fighter as Motociclisti - Motor riders.
These open radio key words were changed every three months by special and secret orders. One of them you can find on page 210 of Romanian Aeronautics in the Second World War - Modelism.
