Aeromagazin is not interested in promoting the ARR. I belive we already talked about this. I 'm thinking more about C.Craciunoiu.... Carol I, It was C.Lascu who said that. He's a respected and a well known speolog. I wouldn't condamn him that he maight not liked me. Maybee it's not an interesting subject for the readers. What makes me angry is that there are hught sums of money spend on s_ _ _ t and we don't have a ww2 plane in a museum. |

I see. However, you still have nothing to lose if you write to the Headquarters of NGS. The worst case is that they are not interested at all and nothing happen (the situation now). The next worse case is that they will pass your letter to National Geographic Romania and thus Cristian Lascu will remember your earlier approach (he might then try to contact you). On the other hand, the best case is that the NGS will be directly interested in the project (better chances if an American plane is mentioned in relation to the Brates Lake) and will tell Cristian Lascu or National Geographic Romania to provide you with all the support you need. And if the NGS pathway fails, try to write to other organisations/institutions such as the Imperial War Museum or the Royal Geographical Society who might be interested if British planes are involved.
I understand your frustration regarding the financing, but you must find a way to get people interested into the matter. There is however the risk that when the information becomes public the relic "poachers" will rush there and ruin everything. |

It is also possible that there is a Potez 633B2 in the Brates Lake, fallen there on 22 June 1941.

Guys,
Divers I belive can be found. The problem is what will we do if the plane/s have live ammo on board? After 50 years in water it's extreamly instable. We need "protectia Civila " ,we need metal detectors (out of law here in Rom), we need a big truck, some method to lift th eplane out of the wather (can be made with baloons filled with air-that need a compresor ,that need electricity) and so on and so on. That's why I was thinking that NG is the best. |

The Potez 63 flown by adj. av. pil. Matei Timotin, slt. av. C-tin Popescu on June 22, 1941 fell into "Balta Bileu" (where is that? I could not find it). The airplane did not sunk, only being half submerged in water. It could still be there, though. Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on July 13, 2005 11:57 pm |

If something will eventually be found in the lake, I can only hope that it will be in similar shape to the airplane lifted recently out of an Austrian lake:
(source: www.juhe.at) Amazing, isn't it? The rest of the photos are here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1422578/posts Gen. Dénes |

That jug is in a perfect condition if only we can find an IAR-80 in that lake and will look like this one...
