Gen. Ioan Dobran (left) with cdor. Costin Georgescu (right). In the background, just behind Georgescu is cdor. Eusebiu Hladiuc.

Different generations. The old aviator is recommended himself as cdor. Munteanu. He filmed the entire procession. He had the Virtutea Aeronautica Order Gold Cross class and Kinght class. The Knight class was, however, post 2000 version. Unfortunately Dobran didn't know him. Maybe C-2 will be able to find out more about him.

I have found the following Munteanus that received the order:

adj. sef av. Gheorghe Munteanu
slt. av. Gheorghe Munteanu
lt. obs. Emil Munteanu
slt. av. Gheorghe Munteanu (another one)
adj. av. Dumitru Munteanu
lt. av. Lazar Munteanu
lt. cdor. Teodor Munteanu

The first and the last one would probably not have lived until today and Lazar Munteanu was a famous Hs-129 ace and Dobran would have recognized him. So he is one of the remaining four.

Anyway, I like the photo. smile.gif

Was it the peacetime or the wartime badge of the Aeronautical Virtue Order that he wore?

In 2004 a retired cdor. Emil Grigore Munteanu received the peacetime knight's cross of the order.

After we left I took Costin Georgescu to the suway station, and he told me that during the ceremony,Dicesare sudenlly got upset and shouted " why doesn't anuone talk about the veterans?".
He was right. Even Teoctist was mentioned....
The flowers crown ,given by "Liga Aeriana" was bought from his money. He didn't ask anyone to contribue since he knows all have small pensions.
