What tipe of cannon is this?, a verry big gun in 2mai

I took this picture in july at 2 Mai from a bus. I was impresed by the size of the thing... in the picture is not so impresive as in real life.

It looks like a Russian copy of the good old 88...

To the momment when picture war revealed i was sure you see it an 130 m.m. coastal defence gun, but... C-2 can be verry close to the true. He looks like an 88 Pak gun!

In the place where i seen this thing were also aerial bombs, and a few other things, maby was something from ww2 too bad i did not have any time to photograph it. This place is after 2 Mai when you go to the Vama Veche, also i heard rumors about some "cazemate" in Vama VEche, i did not seen any

Anybody has an idea as to why that thing lies there, with presumably civilians on top of it? Did the Army just forget about those giants? Did the Army scrap them?

Those guns were used as coastal artillery. Initially used as AA guns, there were transferred to the Navy after SAM entered service.

The KS-30 anti-aircraft guns of the Romanian Air Force became redundant in 1965, when the air defence units finished deploying the SA-2 Dvina. These guns, togheter with all associated vehicles and logistic support were transferred to the Navy, which used them to equip a coastal artillery unit.

A typical battery had 8 guns. Three battery emplacements have been identified in Google Earth imagery so far, one protecting the entrance to Mangalia inlet, where a naval base and shipyard are located. The other two are positioned north and south of the strategically important Midia oil refinery.

The unit operating these batteries was disbanded in 2001. A KS-30 gun is preserved at the Navy museum in Mangalia:

False alarm, dear Cipiamon. That place is "Muzeul Marinei Mangalia", west of the city, on the road to 2 Mai, Vama Veche... If I remember, yes, there they are guns, bombs, torpedoes, speedboat... Visit and enjoy !
