Hi everybody! This is my first post here. I'd like to know how long did it take for the Romanian army to get fully mobilized. I am interested in the Second Balkan War and WWI. I know in 1913, the Romanians mobilized fewer soldiers. How much faster was it to mobilize in 1913 than in 1916? If you can, please post links to sites dealing with these matters. Thank you.

The mobilization for the Second Balkan War was done very rapidly and it surprised the foreign observers.

Thank you for the info, but HOW rapidly? I would really like some exact numbers. I'm RPing Romania in a historical game and I need to know how fast can I use my troops after starting the mobilization. tongue.gif One week, maybe?

There was an article in an issue of Dosarele Istoriei about the Romanian Army, where it was mentioned. Unfortunately I do not have it at my disposal right now and will probably take a while before I find it.

In 1913, the Romanian army mobilised 509820 soldiers (15 infantry divisions, 3 infantry brigades, 2 cavalry divisions and one cavalry brigade) in only four days (6-10 July).

833601 soldiers were mobilised in 1916.

Thank you, too. 4 days... That's really fast!

Maybe I'm too greedy, but do you happen to know how fast was the army mobilised in 1916?

EDIT: What book is it? Maybe I could get it too.

I don't know how long it took in 1916.

The book is "Marshall Averescu. The soldier, the politician, the legend", Ed. Militara, 2005

Editura Militara has a web page. However, I tried to order several books, with a delivery address in Rumania and payment 'ramburs', but did not receive any reply to my repeated e-mails. They probably don't take e-mail orders seriously. Too bad...

Unfortunately they're not the only ones. I ordered 3 books from a publishing house via mail about a month ago and received neither post-office notice, neither the books, neither a sign of life from the geniuses with their "cos de cumparaturi" website. mad.gif

I also ordered it online from Ed. Militara. I didn't get any reply or notice but the books came (after a long time).
