Romanian Figther pilot losses in 1941-44

I look for the statistic, how many romanian fighters pilots lost their live between 22.06.41 and 23.08.44 in the fight against soviet VVS (combat/ not combat killed, MIA, POW). If the summary information is available, it is possible that ARR is one of the most effective Air Force related own and opponent losses.

I don't think that only fighter pilots were effective for opponents losses ( if you refer to air victories ). Also gunners from other ARR categories ( bomber, observation etc) were credited with many victories. And ofcourse ARR looses were at least two times more among gunners than the fighter pilots.

I believe the way you intend to calculate ARR's 'effectiveness' is erroneous.

Efficiency should be calculated by the number of own airplanes, not airmen, lost in combat vs. the number of enemy airplanes destroyed, not airmen killed.

The real picture is even more complex, as airplanes lost to non-combat causes, the number of combat sorties vs. losses, etc. should also be taken into consideration.

But the really problem for all sides in WWII was not a plane, but te pilots: The plane was easy to replace( even for Germany in early 1945), not the flying personal...

Kalender is right.But even so,Romania couldn't compete with Soviet Union & USA war machine.

kalender1973 wants some kind of a ratio between succeses and losses, in order to measure effectiveness of national airforces. I don't think this is possible unless the research is narrowed somehow, for specific branch or air missions for example.
