Hi All,

in a number of photograps, the romanian soldiers appera to use both MG 34 and MG 42; i understood that they where imported (also might be captured); my question is how these weapons where deployed in battlefield, i mean they've replaced the ZB 30 in some units or where add in the heavy companies?

best regards,
M

I don't think any other machine-gun was taken out of service before the end of the war, given the ever lasting shortage of equipment.

But the German machine-guns were seen as more versatile than the cumbersome ZB-53 heavy machine-guns, and I think they were initially distributed to the heavy weapons companies.
