Raid on ARR base in Slovakia April 19 1945

On April 19 1945 raided German Bf 109G Piešťany Airfield in Slovakia where ARR was based. One of attacking Bf 109G was after attack hit by Romanian AAA nearby Trenčín and crashed on Moravian-Slovakian Border. I am interesting which ARR units were based in that time on Piešťany Airfield, how many ARR planes (if any) were destroyed on ground by Germans and what Romanian AAA unit claimed shot downed Bf 109G that day.

I can confirm that on April 19, Rumanian flak defending Piest'any airfield shot down one of the attacking 'nazi' airplanes [Bf 109G]. The airplane crashed in the Ostrov zone, the pilot was captured. (However, I could not find a matching data in available Luftwaffe loss records).

Hallo Dénes,

thnak you for reply. Plane was hit in the territory of village Drietoma nearby Trenčín and crashed in the vicinity of village Kykula, directly on Moravian-Slovakian border. Pilot should according to wittness jumped with parachute and alived. Rest of crashed plane was found in Spring 1987 by Aviation Archeologist. It seems to be G-6, G-10 or G-14 version, most probably one of last two ones.

Only one German unit with Bf 109G operated in Area was Stab JG 77 (Prostějov Airfield) and 1./JG 77 (Ostrava Airfield). To one of these units Bf 109G probably belong.

Which ARR unit was based in that time on Piešťany Airfield? Have been some ARR planes destroyed on ground? What is your source for confirming this claim, Dénes?
