The liner is kept in by the three clamps; you see them on the exterior on each side and one in the back. They are fitted to the first part of the liner but they are made of thin metal steal, so they break off very easy. I broke two of them when I removed the liner of my German helmet (m35); new original ones are very expensive and are sold only in sets of 3 unpainted.
So I would advise you not to take the liner off. And the removal of the liner won't help, the liner copies are made in Poland with the original machines that were made in WWII and you would not see any difference. I am posting pictures of an repro liner I have(it was a gift and if the former owner wouldn’t told me that I was an repro I would have never known). Thanks Mihnea it's a very nice helmet. Did you get the helmet with a broaken rivet or you brake it?
How much did you pay for it? |

Why do you say the liner is too new? May be the owner took great care of it. |

The overall shell condition are no perfect.I tink the helmet has been cleaned up from the rust with some product .The liner is too new compared to the shell.
By the way.....is a nice original helmet for a VERY good price Regards, Francesco This post has been edited by Francesco on May 16, 2006 06:32 pm |
