The seller told me that this helmet was found in the 90's near Faleza Nord in Constanta. His father and other workers were diging a flat foundation, and while they were diging they found numerous ww2 objects. They didn't know anything about them so they trew them away, with this helmet the seller told me that the workers were playing football. When he sow thet no one want's it he took it home and the helmet stayed there until now. He renovated his home and he didn't need it any more.

The seller painted the helmet with GRUND (i don't know the word in english). I tried to take it off with DECANOL nut it is very hard, If you know a other way let me know.

It has a M1931 first pattern aluminum liner band with reinforced side plates. Note the square "D" rings for the chinstrap.

The helmet might have been Romanian as navy units were equipped with German helmets.
In my opinion apply more and leave the paint to react longer with Decanol.
