Anti Aircraft Defences in 1943-44 in Rumania, Telemetric and Radars

Hello to anyone , I am new on this forum and I will hope you will have understnding for my mistakes.

From my dad I heard that close to Airport Bucrest Otopeni in WWII there was a radar and telemetric station called " tiger" of the germans army or luftwaffe.Do anyone know the exact location of the installation and have any photos ? This station was used till 1944 under ground and good camufalge

Btw, as far as I know the Liechtenstein radar was mounted on night fighters, so it didn't have a fixed position.

These locations also appear on Cantacuzion's map with the designation "beacons" (Germ. "Leuchtfeuer"). Does it mean that the locations contained both equipments?

Thank you for your messages. I think there is a possibility that the german chart also applies to the German radars locations at least some of them but I doubt it has something to do in majority with Radar stations I mostly think is showing the night facilities for fighter aircraft coordination and landings at night ....so I am still puzzled where the location of all Rumanian and German radars was in WWII in Rumania

The list I wrote mentions the radar types and their locations in Romania. Isn't that what you wanted?

Yes, it seems they also had radiobeacons at those locations.

thanks for informing me more, do I correcly understand that the placement of the light beacons were also radar guidance stations ?

Perhaps you can help me to download images of 500 KB into my topics, I tried all possibilities and doesnt work. Do I need to download a special Shark software ?

They were complementary. Wurzburgs radars with serchlight unit ( that probably means the light beacons on the map), AA guns units and night fighters work toghether as a team.

First you "browse" for the picture ( should be max. 200Kb) than you push the "Host it" button. You wait for loading the Image shack, select and copy -paste (to your message board) the "hotlink for forums" from the image shack links.

Cantacuzino, I believe the beacons on the map are radiobeacons, not searchlights. They were used to help the night fightrers to determine their current position, by measuring the relative position to the beacon.
