The only pictures of a gun camera I saw were at the personal albums of 2 ARR vets.
The first one ,named Simulenciu, lived in Brasov ,died in 2002. I saw at his home a few pictures of a dog fight training, where a gun camera was used. The others were "action"ones. If Victor will post them, you can see a Pe-2 being shoot.Got them from Eusebiu Hladiuk. |

In 1934 ARR purchased 21 gun-cameras K-28, produced by Polskie Zaklady Optyczne (PZO) for P.11b fighter planes. |

If the date for the photo showing the twin-engined machine is the Summer of 1941 it could be as well a Yak-2/Yak-4.
Excellent shots, btw! Ruy |

Nice photos thank you very much Victor !! Does anyone know if the guncamera was mounted on same axis as the gunsight or was it mounted in the wings ?
The engine canopy of the enemy plane looks weird, not like a Pe-2 or Pe3 (look in the 1st photo and compare with these ones): Pe2 1940 (1 series) Pe2 1942 (84 series) Pe2 1942 (110 series) Pe3 1941 Pe3-bis 1941 This post has been edited by D13-th_Mytzu on December 06, 2004 10:25 pm |
