Hi D13th Mytzu,

It seems unlikely, given that the Crimea was still in Axis hands. What aircraft are they supposed to have used?

I seem to remember that they mined the lower Danube with British-supplied mines at one stage later in the war. Were these not the earliest Soviet air raids on Romanian territory since 1941?

Cheers,

Sid.

Hi D13th Mytzu,

My computer doesn't want to fully load that site. Sorry.

I am still wondering wheter it refers to the aerial magnetic mine laying.

According to my information several Romanian river vessels, including the "Mihai Viteazul" and the "Ismail" were lost, possibly in late 1943. Does the Koslinski and Stanescu book on the Romanian Navy in WWII give dates for their losses?

Cheers,

Sid.

I don't think so, they specifically mention Bucharest (there are some little planes attacking it - and I think it also says in text mode).

It was showed 12th of September 1942. And the text: "Soviet long-range aviation attacks Bucharest"
