Fighter Ace Greceanu test-flew the Messerschmitt 262 Jet!

I'm afraid if I respond this topic will also get locked (I already helped locking one with my offtopics ).
Regarding the subject of this thread - most evidences prove he did not fly the Me262 and it will be a very hard task proving otherwise. I myself talked with people who are very aware of romanian ww2 aviation and the answer was: "the pilots who were with him said it never happened" and I think this is the heaviest argument.

Kevin, I am very surprised of your brazen attack on the Luftwaffe and the German airmen, in general. What you have written is full with half truths, propaganda and the victors' particular view of history.

Similarly to Mytzu, I will not engage in this off topic subiect.

Suffice to say, there was no "Nazi air force" as such, and those who wore the uniform of the Luftwaffe were not necessarily members of the NSDAP (i.e., Nazi Party). Actually, it was a minority of Nazi members in the Luftwaffe, the great majoroty being soldiers, non afiliated to any political movement.

Now, let's return to the actual topic of this thread.

I just read through what has been posted on cartula.net related to the story of Greceanu & Me 262.

Very little substance, lots of opinions and counter-opinions. Unfortunately, the thread spiralled down into personal attacks, some more subtile, some more open (including against my person, by a certain member called 'Wurger', even if I was not present in the discussion).

From what I've read, only 'Cantacuzino' posted some concrete information and 'radub' presented some sound logical deductions.

The bottom line is - as I see it - until Greceanu's claim is proven independently, it remains what it is, a claim.
