I got this mess tin out of Russia. Seller stated it was dug out of the ground outside of Volgograd (Stalingrad). Not too bad condition for a relic. Now if I can only find a non relic mess tin.

Pretty cool find.

Very nice set, the dish is extremely rare (I have only seen 2 other, and booth in my collection wink.gif ). A nicer bowl complete with the handle can be found but it's not very common, in good condition.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if this bowl once had a handle that was lost or it came without one. I too am looking for the bowl with the handle.
