For Alexro There are some slight mistakes in your full fledged contribution about Block Carlton. 1. Architect's correct name is GEORGE MATEI Cantacuzino (G. M. Cantacuzino), not GHEORGHE N. Cantacuzino. 2. After the deadly earthquake of November 10, 1940 - when Carlton Block caved in - he was found not guilty by the special commission set up by the Antonescu-Horia Sima government. the deadly earthquake of November 10, 1940 Source of these "details" : the link to the Bucharest School of Architecture named after him : http://www.ce.tuiasi.ro/~arhitect/cantacuzino.html
The architect was one of the most important Romanian architects of all times, and believe it or not, he was the youngest VOLUNTEER in WW1. List of his works is quite impressive and his family connections are incredible. He was not jailed by the Legionaries, he volunteered to be sent to the Russian front, and after WW2 he was jailed by the Communists, being declared "an enemy of the Romanian people".
