romanian ww1 helmet

1 - Dark Chocolate Brown of the early 1920's.

2 - Khaki green of the late 1920's- 1930's.

3 - Khaki dark green with a black helmet plate. Late 1920's.

1 - Carol 2 Adrian. Circa 1939. Helmet plate is smaller then what is found on the Dutch
Model helmets. This helmet lacks paint. It was probably painted dark khaki green
same color as the WW2 Dutch models.

2 - WW2 Adrian with the WW1 Ferdinand helmet plate. This helmet is painted black for
Anti-Aircraft Artillery units. WW1 helmets were also used or reissued during WW2.

Just bought this piece. It's a late 20's helmet plate. Is it original, because I really don't know, I compared with other original pieces from pictures and they are the same. I want an expert opinion.

were NOT round in shape.

Maybe this is a reproduction I don't know, but there were emblems in the late 1920's that were round like mine, take a look at the helmets that belong to REGAL UNIFORM COLLECTOR he has a helmet with the same shape. I suspect that this model was introduced when the French introduced their new helmet the M26, so I think that the Romanian army wanted to make an upgrade like the French.

I suspect it's a reproduction as the front has very clear marks of heat from the gas torch that was used to solder the attaching clamp. And the total absence of rust marks except light surface rust for a unpainted piece of sheet metal 80 years old.

Here is an other one.

The seller told me that the piece is original, he also told me that the emblem had the 2 fingers broken and that he welded them. I really don't know, maybe it's original maybe not, but there were such emblems that's for sure.

I want to buy a Adrian helmet and put the emblem on it, it's very nice o display. I have 2 French ww1 helmets and I took the emblem down from one and put the Romanian one, it's fit great and look very good.

Until further research the Romanian ww1 helmets remain a mystery.
