From left to right: maj. general Gheorghe Cealik (CO of the Cavalry Corps), brig. general Corneliu Teodorini (CO 6th Cavalry Division) and general Erwin Jaenecke (CO 17th Army), somewhere in Crimea in late 1943. Cealik is wearing the 2nd class of the MV Order.

Cpt. Horia Mladenovici. He was born on 14 October 1911 in Craiova. During the war he was assigned as CO of the 7th Company from the 10th Vanatori Regiment (15th Infantry Division). He distinguished himself in the battles in Bessarabia at the crossing of the Prut River and then on Sarateni Hill. After the 15th Infantry Division crossed the Dniester into the Ukraine, he was wounded on 3 August 1941 in the fights around Shibka. He continued to lead his unit, carried in the back by a sergeant. Later that day, both men were killed by an artillery shell. He was posthumously awarded the Mihai Viteazul Order 3rd class.

QUOTE (REGAL UNIFORMA COLECTOR @ Nov 26 2005, 06:06 PM)

Gen. Leonard Mociulschi has one very nice uniform. I like the combination of Romanian and German insignia and orders as well as the Romanian Mountain regimental badge. A well rounded and colorful WW2 uniform.

Yes, I also believe so. Thanks to Mr. Kramer, I could also use this photo for the website.

Great picture of Gen. Korne, Victor. I've never seen it before. What kind of hat is that, do you know per chance? Thanks.

It's a rosior parade hat. Kepi or REGAL UNIFORM A COLLECTOR can probably tell you more on it.

General Avramescu wearing 2nd and 3rd class at some form of reunion of MV holders, I presume. Picture taken some time between August 1942 and August 1944, more likely closer to 1944.

Note that all (military and civilian-dressed) are knights of the order. The general standing next to Avramescu looks a little like Gen. Constantinescu-Claps, but I'm not sure.

Perhaps someone can recognize and identify some of the other people in the picture.

Pamfil Seicaru, one of the most important journalists in the inter-war period, wearing the cape of the order (he was awarded the 3rd Class in WW1):

Brig. general Edgar Radulescu, wearing the 3rd class. Photo was probably taken after he was awarded the Ritterkreuz. He is also wearing the Steaua Romaniei in a very strange way.

It could be that he had a Commander's cross of the Order of the Star lowered temporarily for the ceremony of receiving the German Ritterkreuz.

The general was a famous character of the inter-war years. General Berthelot, who met him in WW1, said about him in his memoirs: "This man should be locked somewhere in times of peace and only released to command armies in times of war."

He was the comander of the Frontier-guard Brigade during the second battle of Oituz in the summer of 1917.
