He was the leader of the "Totul pentru tara" party until his death (this party was the political arm of the Iron Guard). He was also a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War (on the Nationalist side). Some sources claim that he had an affair with Queen Mary when he was younger.

He wears an Army Long Service medal, so he was a veteran.
