Yesterday closed this year's "Targul de Carte" edition (book fair I think it is translated) hosted by RomExpo. I got about 6 or 7 books, will write about them when I get home. Was curious if anyone else went there and if you found interesting books.

I went there and i bought four history books. These book fairs are a great place to find history books, since many interesting titles are published by obscure publishing houses and are not easy to find in normal bookstores. But many of these small publishing houses were present at the fair.
Here is what i bought: - "Marina romana in al doilea razboi mondial", vol. 3, by Koslinski/Stanescu - "Comandanti fara armata. Exilul militar romanesc 1939-1972" - "Raidul escadrei tradate" by Mihai Pelin - "O istorie a presei romanesti" by Victor Visinescu |

I got:
1. "Personalitati militare Romanesti Vol1&2" by C. Ucrain, L. Scrieciu, N. Ene - it contains: "Ministrii de razboi 1941-1945" , "Sefi ai Marelui Stat Major 1941-1945" , Comandanti de armate 1941-1945" , Comandanti de corpuri de armata 1941-1945" (all these in vol 1), "Comandanti de divizie de cavalerie 1941-1945" , "Comandanti de divizie de infanterie 1941-1945" , "Comandanti de divizie vanatori de munte 1941-1945" , "Comandanti ai diviziei blindate 1941-1945" (all these in vol2). They also gave me a military publication called "Cer senin" unfortunatelly I found out there is no way to get this magazine each month for it is not open to the public. 2. "In umbra lui hitler vol1&2" by Albert Speer 3. "Transilvania in secolele V-XII" by Ana-Maria Velter 4. "Monumente Istorice din Romania (1850 - 1950)" by Ioan Opris 5. "Documente latine de cancelarie din Moldova (sec XIV - XVIII)" by Mihaela Paraschiv 6. "Eneida" by Publius Vergilius Maro 7. "Satyricon" by Petroniu This post has been edited by D13-th_Mytzu on November 28, 2005 04:03 pm |

The first one sounds interesting, who published it? You can get the PDF edition of "Cer Senin" for free (http://www.roaf.ro/ro/cer_senin/cersenin_arhiva.htm).

Yes, I found these fairs interesting too, but I started buying books online, so gave up this "sport". Anyway, what I found weirdest about these fairs was the "oriental" section. 2 or 3 years ago they displayed meditation techniques on a PC or TV screen, and there were a bunch of people around closing their eyes and stuff. take care -------------------- I
