I just want to inform that a new issue of “Dorobantul” (Osprey style) series, about the Romanian armour (1919-1947), will be released on Monday, 19th December 2005, at 1 pm, at the National Military Museum. During the same event, will be inaugurated the Antiquity (1st part) section of the museum permanent exhibition and some other publications: a book about the foreign orders and medals in the museum collections, a booklet about the symbols of the rank of Marshal in the Romanian army and a package of playing cards decorated with romanian military uniforms (1830-1930).
“Trupele Blindate in Armata Romana. 1919-1947” (“Armoured troops of the Romanian Army. 1919-1947”), is the third issue of “Dorobantul” series and presents in about 80 pages of text, 50 b/w photos and 8 colour plates, the evolution of the romanian tank units from 1919 till the beginning of the Communist period, their contribution during WW2, the structure of the units, the equipping of armoured troops, their markings and the uniforms and insignia carried by the tanks crews. It has a summary in English and the captions of photos and plates are also translated in English. |

I don't think this topic belongs to this forum...
PS I think it should be in Reviews & Bookstore. This post has been edited by mihnea on December 16, 2005 12:15 pm |

Thanx for the heads up Kepi. I never bought an issue of "Dorobantul" before, but this issue's subject is pretty interesting. What price range should I prepare for?

The price of this book is 7 New Lei (about 2 Euros), as for other issues of “Dorobantul” series. It could be bought from the Museum shop. For the foreigners I think is best if someone in Romania could buy it from the Museum shop and then send abroad by mail. As far as I know, the Military Museum can’t sell books abroad. |
