Yes, I saw that one. By the way, were there many Romanian regiments with Serbian/Yugoslav links? That might also explain the different badges.

There was also the 9th Rosiori Reigment Regina Marioara a Iugoslaviei.

Insignia for royal adjutants Queen Elisabeta

This is the badge of the 2nd Rifles ("Vanatori") Regiment, Queen Elisabeta of Romania. It was adopted by the Royal Decree Nr. 3222 of 26th November 1914.

By the Royal Decree nr. 1590 of 9th May 1931, Queen Elisabeta of Greece, King Carol's II sister, became Colonel-in-chief of this regiment.

From 6th of June 1931 this unit became the 1st Guard Rifles ("Vanatori") Regiment Nr. 2 "Queen Elisabeta".

The cypher of the unit remained the same until December 1947

Does anyone have any current regimental badges?

I wonder how the communist regime affected these regimental symbols.

Or if they were changed once again, after Dec. '89. And if so, did they revert back to the pre-communist unit cyphers, or were new ones created?

mabadesc,

Many of the old units don't exist anymore or have different names.

Sure, Victor. Obviously Romania doesn't currently operate the 30-odd divisions it once did during WWII (I'm guessing on the number).

Yet, I imagine that at least some of the ones which are currently active may descend from WWII-era units, or from a combination of units which eventually merged.

So, to generalize the question, I just wonder how today's divisional and regimental badges compare to WWII-era badges, regardless of whether today's units are brand new or descending from one of the war units.

Thanks for clarifying, however. Your statement is definitely correct.
