You might be interested to know the following points: That the Hindenberg Honour Crosses came in three types: 1. With swords for Fighter, and with a laurel wreath in the centre. 2. Without swords and with a wreath of oakleaves, for Non-Combatant. 3. And a Black painted Non-Combatant Cross for the Widows and Mothers of the fallen. The Mother or Wife had to wear the Cross to show her son or husband had given his life for Germany, and a small black safety pin was issued with the ribbon to pin it to the clothing. The ribbon for the Hindenberg Combatant and Non-Combatant was exactly the same as the ribbon for the 1870-71 Franco-Prussian Combatant War medal. The ribbon for the Hindenberg Cross for the Fallen was the same as the ribbon for the 1870-71 Franco-Prussian Non-Combatant War medal. In all SIX AND A HALF MILLION Hindenberg Combatant Crosses were issued upon application with the correct paperwork. 1 Million, 200 thousand Non-Combatant Crosses. 720 thousand Widows / Wifes Crosses were issued. These Medals have not been faked but were still in production up to 15 years ago to replace Prussian Veterans Crosses that were worn out, damaged, or lost, the modern reproductions are made from a light-weight alloy rather than the original materials of bronze or iron. The marks to the rear are the manufacturer's marks and a very diverse as the contract was given to literally hundreds of firms. Any German WW1 or WW2 Medal bar with a Hindenberg Cross on it can be dated to the year 1934 onwards as 34 was the start if issue year. On a serving Officer /soldier of the Wehrmacht's medal bar, regulations stated that the unofficial Medals fron various veterans groups, Kyfferhauserbund, German Legion of Honour, etc..etc must be removed and only the Hindenberg Cross of appropriate type, Combatant or Non-Combatant could be worn. Of course old veterans who were civilian's could wear the othertypes and add the Hindenberg Cross as well. The Hindenberg Crosses were also available th members of the Austrian, Hungarian and Bulgarian Armies who had served with or alongside the Prussians in WW1. |

If it's a real piece, it's a post-war one, as it doesn't have the swastika in the centre of the cross. If so, the 150 dollars is way too much.

This is the back of the cross, there is no swastika. The front has it but on ebay you are not allowed to put this kind of signs.

At this price I'm sure it's fake. A real Knight's cross would be in excess of 5000 Euro and that without the oakleaves and swords. And it looks like the center it's bended and hollow.

Maybe it's a '57 issue. In this case, the price would be fair.

Anyway it looks like it was hit and bent in the middle like it's hollow. If it was a '57 I think the seller would show the front.
