Some history books mention that also the Romanian Army captured Central Powers and Hungarian Red troops in various battles, from 1916 to 1919. For instance, in the Arges-Neajlov battle, Division 9/19 (including 9th Hunters Reg) took 3,000 German prisoners and several machine guns, later to be paraded on Bucharest main avenue, Calea Victoriei, just like after August 23, 1944 (pictures with captured Germans in front of the Atheneum).
I would be much obliged to see pictures of such prisoners because in the large majority of the history books and internet sites are shown ONLY ROMANIAN PRISONERS. Thank you. Mateias |
