Klietmann lists the following as manufacturers of the Order of the Crown:
Telge Weiss Resch Zimmermann Monetaria Nationala I believe the French court jewelers of A. Kretly and G. Lemaitre also manufactured the early Crowns. Are there any other known manufacturers? |

I don't know exactly that lemaitre is a manufacturer of the order of the crown, but I have seen a few month ago an order of michael the brave 3rd class in a case of lemaitre. so why he should not produce order of the crown, too?
crusader p.s.: I could get last year and order of the crown 1st type officers class with swords made by and in a case of resch. If anyone will see some pictures... This post has been edited by crusader on March 21, 2006 12:33 pm |

Will it be possible to take some photos of the case and badge and post them in the thread on Variations of the Order of Michael the Brave? |

I think Ahile is talking about the order from Mr Stambuliu's shop in Bucharest. I saw also this order 3 weeks ago! It is a MV 1916-3class in a Le Maitre box ! The price is 1750 RON !!! This post has been edited by b737 on March 21, 2006 06:23 pm |

For the moment the question still stands: Is it the same badge seen by Crusader? Hopefully he will reply and confirm or deny it. |

Thanks, quite interesting. But are you sure it is the original case of that particular medal? We have discussed in another thread that this type of boxes with King Carol I's cipher might be characteristic to the pre-WWI period or maybe even earlier while the Order of the Crown got the swords during King Ferdinand I's rule. Of course, it could happen that it was a wartime award with a new badge paired with a case from the remaining Carol I's stock. |
