I am looking for inert small arms (up to 20mm) ammunition made by Romania before 1945. The older, the better
i would buy them or trade for old Hungarian ammo. Further, i would highly appreciate the list of the calibers which were produced by Romania in that period Regards, Vince This post has been edited by EOD on September 10, 2005 02:48 pm |

Is ammo collecting prohibited in your country? Regards, Vince |

Of course i meant neutralized ammo. I used to trade them by post. Our laws allow trading with inert cartridges.
I am also interested in literature about romanian cartridges (color codes, headstamp, the list of manufactured and imported caliberts, etc) I was surprised seeing, this forum hasn't any forums about ordnance. Any hungarian WWII forum has many topic about ground found ammo. Regards, Vince This post has been edited by EOD on October 29, 2005 09:50 pm |

The problem of ammo collecting is not solved in Romania. The gun law in Romania allow the ownership of ammo only related to a gun you legally own, in the same caliber and in a restricted amount. When the new gun law was proposed for vote, the Gun Owners Association of Romania (ANDA) proposed , beside the status of gun collector, the one of inert ammo collector. But all the requests were rejected by police. The ideea of collecting, beside guns, inert cartridges was too much for them! So you can not have legally the status of ammo collector, and is no market for such items, all are find by chance or accident.

We also can have the cartridges for the permitted self defence or hunting weapons. We haven't any particular law for live ammo collecting so we collect only inert cartridges. They aren't ammunition, only a piece of brass, steel and lead.
It is simple: What is not prohibited by law that's allowed. Vince |

The romanian law define ammo in such a bizare way that lead pellets for airguns are considerred ammo and you need a licence( certificat de detinator) to buy them .
