Searching for profile

Im trying to find a few profiles of Green-over-Blue ARR 109G2s. Need some reference material for a friend who is doing a few Romanian skins for Aces High along with me.

Ideally I'd love some scans of the profiles from Denes books (Prime Decade and Rumanian Aces of WWII), as they are about the best Ive seen but I dont have access to a scanner and I cant find them online.

Victor some color profiles of Bogdan Patrascu are outdated.

On the link you give it the Bf 109 G-2 (Serbanescu "white 1") was wrong painted as been grey colors and " yellow 1" .


Maybe it's time to talk to Bogdan for update his profiles with the new data available.
Otherway modellers will be confused.

Thanks guys, the pic of Bazu's Gustav helps, we weren.t entirely sure which 4 to use, the one on your profile or the one shown in Denes book.

Photo most definately looks like the "open" style shown on yours.

The problem with that photo is that we don't know for sure if it shows No. 4 or No. 40 (or 41, 42, 43 or 44).

There were only few Bf 109 G2 painted (by germans from Udet ) green cammo in Gr7Vt probably the first 8 Bf 109G received .
Foto evidence of nr. 1, 3, 5, 7 confirmed this teory. I didn't see any pictures with big numbers (40, 41 and so on) painted green. Do you ? The green cammo on Bf 109 G-2 was painted at the begin by germans (using as a model old Bf 109E from Gr7Vt) following the romanian request not to fly with german markings in Udet unit.

I've seen no's 10, 17 still green, but 12 and 38 grey...

Finally, I discovered in the corner of a photo the Bf 109G we were looking for, No. 4.

Unfortunately, the detail is very small; therefore, not much can be seen. Nevertheless, one can guess the shape of the digit '4'.

Yeah, the digit four in the photo Cantacuzino posted earlier was weird...theis "new" one looks more "normal"...

For me it's not clear if it's a G or E version.
Indeed the picture it's not so clear to be sure that is the plane that we are looking for.
Do you have the rest of the picture with front of this plane to see what version is and what are the other planes near ?

It's a 'Gustav'.
The 'Emils' had larger fuselage markings and also placed differently.

Unfortunately, the front section of the aircraft is not visible on the photo (I would have shown it).

There are two other green-painted 'Gustavs' on the same photo (Nos. 13 and 18), as well as the grey painted (rounded tip) right wing of a third one.
