Hallo to all at the Forum,
from sunny, snowy Deva my brother, Anthony on a visit from Ireland over christmas and a keen military modeler posed a very interesting question, which I was unable to answer: "Why is Romania using so many diverse types of Camo uniforms?? "And Just how many types are available to the troops, including the last of the conscripts??" I understand about the desert camo for Iraq and Afganistan. Answers and pictures of different types please. Kevin in Deva. PS: BRASOV Collectors meeting on the 25th (SATURDAY) FEBRUARY. |

There are basicly three types of camo:
- model 1990: the one with the bigger spots - model 1994: the one with small sport - model 2002 (whcih also has the desert version): practically identical to the British Army camo I believe Kepi will be able to add more details. |

The first photo, downloaded several years ago from the website of the 26th Infantry Battalion's website (http://www.redscorpions.net), which now no longer exists, depicts the model 1990 pants with model 1994 shirt.
The second photo depicts various mountain troops uniforms. The one in the middle is the 1990 camo. Source: http://www.mapn.ro |
