TACAM T-60 in Action in summer 1944? Who has the information on it?

TACAM-60 equipped 2 new formations, the 61st and 62nd TACAM Companies, with 16 and 18 vehicles respectively, attached to the 1st Armoured Division and later the 8th Cavalry Division, which was in the process of converting into a new, i.e. 2nd Armoured Division, although in the event the formation was never fully organised. Both TACAM companies saw considerable fighting against Soviet forces in the summer of 1944, suffering notable losses which were further compounded by those lost during fighting against German forces following the 23rd August 1944 Armistice. Due to their Soviet origin, all surviving TACAM T-60s were confiscated by the Soviet Army sometime after October 1944. Hope that it will help you.

UNfortunetelly,I didn't won it,Buy this fotoe is attractive,
I think this foto was taken in 1944 Spring or early summer,If my guess is correct,This TACAMt-60 was belongs to in "rapid Armourde detachment".

Did romanians use german wear? ( helmet,tunic,etc?)

Hi Me,

The Romanians received some German helmets in 1944 and also apparently some German leather yolks and magazine pouches appropraiate to the German small arms delivered. However, these were only used by a very small minority of Romanian troops. Overwhelmingly Romanian troops wore Romanian uniforms and equipment.

It's mixed forces: romanian TACAM T-60 with hungarian troops on the board, also on the photo you can see Turan with hungarian troops on the board.

Very nice photo. However, why do you think the troops riding on the rear tank are Hungarian? The helmets are German, not Hungarian. Most probably, they are Rumanian soldiers.
As for the first tank, I cannot say anything, except the flag looks like a Rumanian one (definitely not Hungarian).

Do you have a date and/or location where the photo was taken? Can you read some of the text on the wall?
By the way, what is the photo's source?

Perhaps they were identified as Hungarians because of the putties in combination with the helmets? Did the Romanians make use of German helmets? I hadn't heard of that before....

German helmets were used on the western front and there are many photos at the military museum and in the book Armata Romana 1941-1945. http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?sh...=german+helmets

Also the Hungarian army never used VZ-24 rifles and the soldiers in that photo don't have Hungarian 35M or 43M or Mannlicher 95 rifles. Also in my opinion the Turan is a captured tank and opportunistically reused until it run out of ammo or it broke down.

the other thing the turan is in bad condition just look the mud-guard, and it only have one exhaust(it should be very noisy).
the Hungarians should repair that before using it again.
i agree with mihnea, it should be a captured tank, and maybe this is why they not repaired it.
