Sanatescu's journal is actually a re-print. A very biased journal.

His opinions about key characters (such as Antonescu) and events change in time.

His description of the battle of the Don's Bend is also very biased in my opinion. He blames everybody else for the defeat.

Every diary/memoirs is/are biased, especially those of generals who attempt to explain defeats in which they took part.

True. The dairy of a man like Sanatescu, who was both a defeated general and a defeated politician, are especially biased.

Biased or not, he was a significant player with a lot of insider knowledge, so his diary is a valuable primary document. I shall try to order it.
