This guy was the only dummy that looked good. When I got closer and saw him blink I realized he was in fact alive.
Anyway, a good idea to have meuseum staff dressed in old uniforms, even though it would have been better if he would have actually moved or give details on his uniform and the IAR-80 he was "guarding". |

These are the dummies I was talking about. It was like walking back in time in the Victoria universal store sometime around 1990. Horrible, IMO.

Another view of the hangar, from the opposite side, again with a long exposure time (hence the "ghost" effects). The windows, although they seem lit, were in fact covered by drapes entirely.

I am not Cantacuzino; nevertheless, let me add that according to the available photo evidence, No. 112 had the Mickey Mouse unit emblem painted on the front fuselage, over the wings, just in front of the cockpit. Also, the rudder is painted in a single colour, the shade of which is undetermined. However, it can be assumed that at one point, the rudder did indeed sport the vertical tricolour flashes. Finally, the propeller spinner appears to have been painted in a single dark colour. I believe it was a good idea to repaint the mock-up, but the historical accuracy should have been respected. Gen. I meant Cantacuzino, because he talked to Razvan Bujor, the person who reconditioned the replica. As I understand, the Mickey Mouse will be added later on.

One of the guys was almost arested by the MP's,after taking photos of the landing gear of the top secret /out of service-IAR 93.
The Chief of stuff came with an 65.000Euro car. A "local" Daewoo Laganza wasn't enought for his majesty. NO veterans were invited. Dan Stoian and Eusebie Hladiuk came anyway. |

I made some videos - hopefully I will upload them soon :]
I was extremly disapointed by what happened today - it only proved we are still living under comunist military rule 1. First of all theoretically the public was NOT allowed to enter. For Christ's sake.. it was 100 years from Vuia's flight, also the re-openening of Aviation Museum to a historical location ! 2. The ww2 veteran pilots were NOT invited to this event !! I was ashamed to be a romanian when I found this out 3. The minister of defence thinks he is some kind of god above all other mortals that took part to this event, his monkey guards acting like in comunist era 4. When I was photographing IAR-93 - displayed in a museum for crying out loud (and retired from service for over 10 years) some col. came to me and asked my credentiial for I "took TOO MUCH INTEREST in that plane" !? 5. When having plenty of room, the minister's moneky came and asked 5 persons to move out of the way (what way ?! he had more then 3 meters open road !) so the godlike politician may pass - his majisty is above us mortals... he must not be bothered by our miserable presence ! 6. the manager of the museum (he is a Comandor for f... sake !) yells like a bloody huligan throuought the museum because someone got too close to an exhibit ! Place some plancarts saying "YOU ARE NOT ALLWOD TO GET TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHIBITS OR TOUCH THEM" but don't act like a bloody savage ! You are the aviation museum manager and also a Comandor !
