I am trying to find out exactly what types of IAR80/81 weer used in Basarabia/Odessa campaigns. So far I only found about IAR-80 (the one without gunsight and armed with only 4x7mm) + 1 squadron of IAR-81 (at the end of Odessa siege). Weren't any of those planes rearmed and fitted with a Goerz ginsight during the 1941 campaign ? Were all of the IAR80/81's used in that campaign armed with 4x7mm + external wire gunsight ?

I quickly checked my ARR losses database and there are quite a few I.A.R. 80As listed up to the end of the first campaign.

Also, if you check out my book on ARR, by Squadron/Signal, you can see that Grupul 8 vanatoare was equipped with '80s and '80As (p. 14), as was the re-formed Escadrila 42/52 vanatoare (p. 16).

Seems you didn't look carefully. See for example, page 63 of Vanatorul IAR-80 by Dan Antoniu & George Cicos:

27 May 1941 - IAR Brasov delivers the follwoing IAR-80s to the 2nd Fighter Flotilla: s/n 1, 50, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 57, 58.

or page 66:

22 June 1941

S/n 52 60th FS adj. av. Jipescu Eugen damaged
S/n 56 60th FS adj. av. Sofariu Gheorghe damaged in combat, forced landing near Braila.

As we know, starting with s/n 51 and up to s/n 90 and then s/n 106-150 and s/n 176-180 were all IAR-80As.
