Will not be out till May. When I get it I will surely read it especially since my wife's grandfather is here in the US to visit and a veteran of the 7th Rosiori Regiment (Cavalry).

I read amazon review. But I would like to know the opinion of somebody who has it between the hands, RHaught or Mihai for example.

Well I am reading that book right now. The pictures are well known and there are no sources. However there is lots of tables and statistics. For me like a slovak it is "must have book". Who was, according an author, the most importnant slovak ally? Romania. I like it.
Down you can see, standart issue helmet for slovak army in ww2. Blue ring with doublecross was added after invasion in USSR. On the right, you can see another piece of standart armour. Slovak gin - borovicka. |

The book is okay. Have seen the same information in Third Axis, Fourth Ally. Still would be a good beginning for research and on the cheaper side to purchase. However seems that proofreading wasn't done too carefully.

The article in question was part of an article published several years ago on Feldgrau (the other part is in the 3rd Army in the Ukraine article). I spend a couple of weeks working on it, compiling information from different sources, building phrases in English etc. True, I had fun doing it
Our initial goal was to popularize Romanian military history. If this book achieves it, than that is more important. If the allegations are true and the author simply copied the info on the website, than I don't have to buy the book in question because I already have it. Anyway, the articles on the website are updated from time to time. |
