I'd say that Brown is an Anglo-Saxon name..
Acording to Ioan Marinciu, the Americans used to shoot the pilot ,in order to omologate the victorii. They had a gun camera ,which was activated when firing. So to confirm the kill they foto the pilot hanging on the para.by pulling the trigger....

Slt.Av. Matei Spiridon from 58 sq. was shot in parachute and killed on 21 april '44 by american pilot ( probably P-38 pilot). One of the possible explanation of this often inhuman acts it could be that many american pilots judging by their names ( Brown, Goldstein etc) are jew at origin. So it's well known their hate( understandable) for the Nazi german people. At that time, many american pilots mark the victories on their planes with zvastica ( no matter if are romanian messerschmitt or IAR 80 ) :?:
I kind of disagree, shooting a parachuting pilots was of cours violate the common accepted rule of engagement, but it was not a war crime. The reason why American had the habit to shooting bailed-out enemy aircrews, they did it at all front, was that they thought it was easy for enemy to replace the aircrafts, but it was not easy for enemy to replace the experienced pilots, so why gave enemy pilot a chance to live and fight another day ?
i think I read that simlar cases occured during the battle of Britain, with german pilots shooting british pilots in parachute. Obviously from the same reason.

I don't thing that victories can be omologate with parachute pilots on movies gun camera ( impossible indentification ). And I don't believe that all americans think that parachute was invented to save only american lives. I remember a case summer '44 when a romanian IAR 80 pilot Slt. Aurel Moldovan returned from Ploiesti to his airfield with his badly damaged aircraft and for a short period was escorted by a P 51 Mustang wich didn't take the oportunity to shoot the crippled plane to won a easy victory.
I don't know if shooting a parachute pilot it's a war crime but i read that american pilots from 31 FG shoot down an italian hidroplane with red cross
(with the mission to rescue italian and german pilots) and I know this is forbbiden by Geneva Convention.
And if I remember corectly in the battle of Britain was reported that some polish pilots shot in german parachute crews ( Because many of them lost their family in german attacks on Poland )

Recently, a beautifully edited book was published in the USA about the life of Alfred Grislawski and Hermann Graf, titled: 'A Pair of Aces', by Christer Bergström.
I am sure further details are in the book. If you wish, I can check it.
