I think József (Iosif) who wrote the text might have been a Rumanian, probably from Transylvania, who knew Hungarian - a rather common skill of those days. Hi Denes, The tail looks more like that of a Fokker C.V. There is very little to go by actually - only the tail seems to be intact. Radu |

After a simple google, I discovered that Romania bought 50 Fokker D.XI

I don't have any info connected to the YR-IAR for this day; however, the previous day (or, according to another source, on this very day) died Cpt. av. D-tru A.M. Hubert on Brasov airfield during an air show ('meeting'). Perhaps the person who wrote the note on the print's verso was somehow connected to Cpt. av. Hubert.

"Brasov Meeting with IAR" Bu the look could be the IAR-23 prototype,and the sad day is for sure reffering to Cpt.Hubert death. |
