It should be real. The same day, this zeppelin passed over Brasov, at 12:30, on its way to Constantinople.

beloe is a picture from Vlaicu's funeral. I wonder which of he's aircraft aper in the picture.

It looks like "Vlaicu no. 2" for an amateur like me.
It seems logical at first, as "Vlaicu no. 3", the most modern of all, was started but never finished. However, Vlaicu died by crashing his airplane "Vlaicu no. 2" into the ground, during his attempt to cross over the Carpathian Mountains. The airplane in the photo looks in a reasonable shape - in one piece, to say the least.
So either the airplane "Vlaicu no. 2" was repaired after the death of Vlaicu, which is questionable considering that a dead body is kept only few days before burial, either in the photo we have the "Vlaicu no. 1".
Moreover, "Vlaicu no. 1" was built in about 10 pieces (this latest information is from Wikipedia), so it was much easier to bring one and make it available for the burial ceremony.
I think only one piece of "Vlaicu no. 2" was built.

I just saw this...
Vlaicu's body was carried from St. George's Church to Bellu Cemetery on Vlaicu 1.
Vlaicu 2 was destroyed in the crash that killed him.
Vlaicu 3 was not completed until much later after his death.

Vlaicu 1 was modified (the wings were clipped) for the funeral, in order to allow for the funerary cortege to pass through the narrow streets of Bucharest.

not sure is Romeo Popescu. maybe this 2 photos from my colection could help you.
PS is good to be a well known pilot. womans all around.

Being especially interested in the story of the Romanian Farman 190s, and trying to identify the plane used for his duration record by Romeo Popescu, I have just discovered this pix. It gives a surprising information about what seems to be a very special plane. Apparently it is the F190 (F191 prototype) F-AIVQ, not really known in the French register. The plane being originally equipped with a large tank behind the engine, the pilot used a periscope. Here it is roughly modified with a non standard windscreen.
According to Flight, the same plane was flown by Romeo Popescu in July 1930 for a special mission (objective not known) between Croydon and Bucarest. After that, the fate of this plane is unknown...

Best regards,
Michel

Thanks George for the info.
That means on the day when he died he flew no 44.
But what about other mounts (Emil's) flown by Popisteanu. Usually that info was noted in the flying log book.
In the above picture the emil looks like having a small number.
Mayby if we discover any conection between the name Maril (marilena?) and his wife ( or daughter).
