any idea from where SCUTIT came from?
user posted image

"Scutit" from requisition. Those were the times when the Russians and communist authorities could confiscate almost anything.

It is a Bf.108B - the wing of the Bf.108 could be folded for storage. Nothing unusual.

True! The "e" and the "f" are quite similar. It is also similar to"Dor de duca", "Don Pedro", "Alcazar", "Ileana", etc. Most likely it was a "font" popular at the time. If it was the same guy, he must have zipped all over the place like a "titrez". ;-)

At least for the Walt Disney characters ( Pluto, Donald, Mickey mouse etc) was the same painter ( based at Pipera airfield as a mechanic). DiCesare told me his name ( unfortunetly I forgot the name).
Probably also painted the "nose art" slogans for the Emil-s.

In the case of the "mounted Mickey Mouse" emblem, there is a photo in Aripi Romanesti showing that it was done using a cardboard stencil. So, if this mechanic drew the drawings that were used to make the template, what are the chances he also made letter templates? That would make sense.

I discovered yesterday your interesting album. Regarding the "Harley photo", there are details on:

"1937 Bucureşti Pipera, Cpt.av Tatius Alexandru, Cpt. av. Georgescu Ghe. sunt transportaţi la avion de Lt. av. Slăvescu Ioan pentru un zbor de antrenament"

QUOTE (horia @ February 25, 2007 08:24 am)
someone known here. maybe "Puffy" Poperscu the second from right???

user posted image

The sixth, from the left to the right, is Cpt. Gh. (Gogu) Stefanescu. The fifth I think is Cdor. Gheorghe Negrescu.
I have found a picture with Cpt. Pufi Popescu in the Orizont Aviatic revue, No.31, at page 14.

Maybe the picture is related to an air race or raid. Please tell me, is something written on the down left corner ? (maybe a name, or something can help for identification). Or just seems to me!
