I know what you mean. I am also for withdrawal of these soldiers out of Irak. Problem is that we should first talk or approach our partners and only then saying, yes, we will withdraw our troops.
Just for fun, in US there's also a wide support for troops withdrawal yet nothing happens in this direction ( well, there will be a reduction in numbers but still...) Another thing, there was never a question of numbers, Italy,Spain or even UK contingents were insignifiants to the number US put in. It was just a question of support. That was all. At this time, you might have a point, after the first blow (Spain) and second (Italy) , nobody would give crap about Romanian troops leaving the theater. However, the arguments our PM gives are laughable at best. If he realy wanted to limit the loss of Romanian lives he should do something in the areas affected by floods. And yes, here it's already proven, US doesn't gives a dried crap about Romania, with or without soldiers in Irak. This post has been edited by Zayets on July 03, 2006 10:50 am |

i totally agree with you. our prime minister tried a populist move totally ignoring the fact that what the population really cares about is high prices, unemployement, crappy sallaries and the recent floods. the irak issue is the cleanest of the problem that he could have touched, cause all the rest are just too messy and depressing since this government is totally useless.
so he chose irak. "brilliant" move from his part. i can see the public uproar regarding this issues. if it weren't for journalists that had to justify their sallaries and if the real issues REALLY mattered, this would have been a 10th page piece of news.. |

. . . but you should not that not only is technically possible to create artificial rain, but also this was already tested at least 20 years ago. About 20 years ago I read an article regarding a joint research between Soviet Union and Switzerland. During that coordinated project, some Soviet missiles spreaded chemicals at high altitude, somewhere in Switzerland, with the purpose of creating artificial rain. Those chemicals forced the water from clouds to change from vapor to droplets. The test was a success. Now, returning to the core of this topic, I heard yesterday that Tariceanu, with quite a wide Romanian politic support and against the will of Basescu, wants our troops out of Iraq. He exposed the reasons, so I am not entering into it. This leads to at least 2 things: 1. The Romanian politicians are not completely retarded. 2. Once the Romanian troops will be out of there, even insane people like the one described in this topic will not see a reason to harm their co-nationals somewhere in Romania. [/QUOTE] . . . . some Soviet missiles spreaded chemicals at high altitude, somewhere in Switzerland, with the purpose of creating artificial rain. Hallo Zayerts Lets get real, a missile launch from the Soviet Union 20 years ago, in the direction of Western Europe would have had the USA putting up DEFCON1 and launching missiles back at the Soviet Union and not with the intention of putting water on the USSR. There is a potential to seed rain clouds normaly its done from aircraft, by the time a rocket would get to where the right type of clouds were, the weather system could have been changed. It has never been perfected and that explains why much of North Africa and the Gobi desert in China is still a desert. There is no plot to drown Romania , the weather we get now is the result of all the pollution we have put into the atmosphere and which we are still pumping in to the atmosphere. Kevin in Deva.
