Was this the same UNITED NATIONS where a vote was taken to recognise the newly formed State of Israel??

In the pro-Jewish website which is the source of all that text, some events are "forgotten"... Some occuring before 1948, for example, when Israel was not a state, but the idea and the fight for it was "on".
As we already wrote so much about this subject, and people will not change their mind just because of some emails, the best idea is to search and read what both sides want to say. Then we can draw a middle line ourselves.

Israeli jets fire over German navy ship

Two Israeli warplanes have fired over a German naval vessel patrolling off the Lebanese coast, the Defence Ministry in Berlin said on Wednesday.

The daily Der Tagesspiegel quoted a German junior defence minister as telling a parliamentary committee that two Israeli F-16 fighters had flown low over the ship, firing twice.

The jets also activated infra-red countermeasures to ward off any rocket attack, the paper quoted him as saying, in an advance release from Thursday's edition

I wonder what would have happened if it were the other way around.
i bet every jew in the world would have started to scream holocaust , nazis, or other things.

since the jews did it, if you criticise it, you are an antisemite.
so end of discussion right there.

ps: the german soldiers that aparently mocked the dead bodies of taliban in afghanistan are all over the news, people are calling them - the new wermacht, the new SS.

still, no news about the israeli warplanes shoting at the german boats.

hmm, sounds like discrimination.

or, of course, in this case the germans were EVIL.

No, not evil, just "soldiers being soldiers".

It's time for the "panty-wetters" to grow up and get over themselves. Stuff like the Israelis overflying Third Country National ships, or the German troops having a bit of macabre humor happens in time of war.

The professionally over-sensitive are the problem, NOT those who are doing what always has been done.

hmm...funny how suff "just happens" when the israelis are involved.
you people should get over this stupid bias. it serves nobody any good.

and i might add that the professionally oversensitive, as the ones you mentions, are people that start shouting HOLOCAUST each time the palestinians get a little break from the international community or if anyone dares to criticize israeli military actions.

OK, for the sake of balance, the israelis denied firing on the german ships. However, the germans claimed they fired "over" the ships, not "on" them.

Clearly something happened. Last week the french warned that if the israelis do not stop their overflights in Lebanon, they will shoot on their airplanes. Now this event with the german ship.

i imagine if some german airplanes would have fired "over" a israeli boat we would have to cover our ears form the international outcry.

So, let's recap. Hezbollah starts a war with Israel, at least in part with the tacit approval of the UN. Israel retaliates, but is only marginally successful. Now, Israel is at fault for being just a little jumpy, and "overflying" and shooting "near" UN forces?

None of you sophisticates have yet to answer why ONLY the Israelis are being blamed for the dislocation of the Palestinians, when Palestinian land is also being claimed by Arab countries? The Palestinians are their own worst enemies. Anyone stupid enough to get a break deserves what they get.

Why am I sickened by how all this gets twisted around?

Just met yesterday a guy from Lebanon.
I asked him about his trip there.
He the only places in Beiruth bombed were where the Hizb. had dif . facilities in.
His family (muslims) had only some fuel shortage.
Phones went well and also electricity.
Food was as usual (I'm talking about the war moments ).
When I told him that I was worried about friends in Beiruth,he smiled.
Like telling the"you are old enought not to gelive anything you see/hear...".

It's interesting that the ship involved was a intelligence vessel just like the USS Liberty.

French troops almost fired at Israel jets-minister
QUOTE
PARIS, Nov 9 (Reuters) - French peacekeeping troops in Lebanon recently came within two seconds of firing missiles at Israeli fighter jets that approached as if to attack them, French Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said.

Speaking to the lower house of parliament on Wednesday night, she said this was the latest in a string of incidents in which Israeli warplanes had "adopted a hostile attitude" to French and German forces and said it was "not tolerable".

"A catastrophe was narrowly avoided by our troops," Alliot-Marie said, according to a transcript of her comments. She did not say exactly when or where the events took place.

Israeli F-15s descended rapidly and then rose quickly as if they were dropping bombs or firing at the French ground forces, which are part of U.N. peacekeeping force UNIFIL, she said.

"In legitimate defence, our soldiers removed the covers from the missile battery and were two seconds away from firing at the planes that were threatening them," she said.

Israeli jets have routinely flown over Lebanon since a 34-day war between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas ended on Aug. 14 in a U.N.-sponsored ceasefire and the expanded deployment of international peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese government and the U.N. force say the Israeli flights violate a U.N. ceasefire resolution. But Israel says the missions are necessary to help ensure that arms are not smuggled into southern Lebanon from Syria to resupply Hezbollah.

France has repeatedly called on Israel to stop the flights.

"I therefore draw your attention, after having done so at the U.N., to the respect needed for UNIFIL forces and to the risk that irresponsible pilots take by acting this way," Alliot-Marie told lawmakers.

The Israeli air force was also involved last month in two encounters with German forces.

The first concerned two planes which a German paper said had fired twice as they flew over a German navy ship. Israel denied they fired but Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed regret over what he called "misunderstandings".

A subsequent incident, described by Germany as "not menacing", involved a German navy helicopter and Israeli F-16 fighters.
