Are you serious or are you ironic? Because those pictures were not photoshopped. Here, look at the movie: http://www.nefafoundation.org/video/protest.wmv -------------------- I

Also, to put it directly, if this kind of demonstration will occur in a Muslim country, the participants will be either shot right in the street, either arrested and maybe tortured. As far as I got it, nothing happened with the participants to the anti-Western rallies, so the Western style democracy is by far the best way to follow. What is happening in immages like the one in the link reminds me on the days when the Bolshevics or the Nazis were participating to meetings or rallies, before they were in power. They enjoyed the "freedom of choice", which later they denied to others. The possible "good news": under all this pressure from the Muslim immigration, the countries of Western Europe may become more benevolent toward the immigration from Eastern Europe - legal or not. Hi Florin,
I think the fundamental Israeli problem is the same as that of the Americans. They value their own lives extremely highly and have therefore developed technology- and firepower-heavy armed forces that are not suitable materially or psychologically to occupy ground and risk the casualties that entails. And yet boots-on-the-ground is the only way you can ensure you opponent stays militarily defeated until you can raise a local security force of sufficient quality and quantity to do the job for you. What is more, occupying up to the Litani River or handing the area over even to an effective multi-national force is not going to solve the problem. Hisbollah missiles have already hit as deep as 45 miles into Israel. Therefore, even with their existing missiles, Hisbollah is already capable of hitting northern Israel over the heads of any Israeli or multinational force south of the Litani River. And soon you can be sure that they will have even longer-ranged missiles. Israel is just going to have to accept that if you displace hundreds of thousands of people from their homes to found your state you just have to live with the consequences. You cannot reasonably expect all of them and their fellows to accept this peaceably. For Israel, "normal" relations with its neighbours will continue to include attacks on its citizenry for the foreseeable future. Israel should therefore continue to play the victim rather than the bully, as it is now in Lebanon. Cheers, Sid. |

Sad.....
The only to blame are the Leban.gov. together with the iranians and Syria. The fact that the alowed paramilitary forces to act from their borders got them involved up to their necks. Not to talk about how hard was for their country to reach peace. The groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and leaders like Ahmadinejad have a problem with the mere existence of an Israeli state, irrespective of its deeds, policies or borders. They dont want the state of Israel there, and that's the center point of their whole efforts and ideology. That is the true problem. -------------------- I

Well, my position is much closer to that expressed by Sid Guttridge right on this page - there are additional people to be blamed in this matter. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A lot was written in the news about the U.N. resolution of 2004 requesting the disarming of Hezbollah, but previously were many, many U.N. resolutions disregarded by Israel. Other than the Muslim world, there were no economic sanctions for this attitude. Israel should understand that all this is a race against time, and the clock is ticking. I am not talking about these days. In not more than 20...30 years America will grow tired of her "protector" role, and I don't see anybody willing to replace her in this role. The only solution which will imply acceptable compromises on both sides: return to the borders of 1949, and accept Israel as a state for ever. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As I think Sid is by far the best authority among us in the history of the British Empire, I would like to know if it is true what I heard that the British offered to the Jewish movement a territory to start their country, a territory much bigger than Israel as it is now. However, the offered territory was in Africa. The offer was rejected, because the goal was to establish Israel in the areas described by the Bible/Old Testament.
