So, why is so special? Or why are they so special, because they seem to be 2 documents. I am too lazy to find the answer, but I am curious in the same time. Regards. This post has been edited by Florin on August 23, 2006 01:54 pm |

Hello Florin, The clue is in the Wehrpass - a former Brandenburger, he choose to part with the PZ-Gren Div "Brandenburg" and join Jagdverbande Ost (Skorzeny's brigade) - Einsatz Hungarn, Slowakei, Donau and Rumanien. So, basically, my personal opinion is that this guy was involved in commando actions against Romanian and Soviet troops on the Western front. If I am mistaking, I stand to be corrected by the more advanced German speakers members of the forum. But I am very confident that this guy is what I think it is. Best Regards, Al |

it seems like he lft "Brandenburg" indeed, however for "Jagdverband Südost", but the commander of the unit at that time seems to be Obersturmbannführer Benesch or Hauptsturmführer Auch.
the guy was a driver and didn't see much combat until december '43, still memeber of the Brandenburg div., in an anti-partisan action. then again, in sept. '44 in croatia. it is unclear however when he joined the "Jagverband Südost". it's intresting that the only training he recived was with the 98k. no automatic weapon training, no mountain climbing training which was crucial for anti-partisan actions in YU. is it known wether he survived the war?
