Here: http://gasmasklexikon.com/Page/Start01.htm (click DDR the third mask from the top of the list) the mask is presented as a DDR made model "ASM ( Atem Schutz Maske) 13029" but the filter seems older...

Romanian made Gp-5 gas masks from the 70's they were made in 5 sizes (0 the smallest to 4 the biggest).

I made a passion for them as you can see laugh.gif ; unfortunately I don't have any bags to go with them. In the picture is missing a mask and two hoses, they were drying after I cleaned them.

Romanian WWII gas-mask canister model 43 or 44 I have not found the exact designation for this canister; it hold a Romanian gas mask Md 32 or 39b both with Md35 filters or a Russian GP-5 with German Fe41 filter (with no adaptor) or Romanian Md35 filter(with an adapter).

The cannister is a copy of the german gas mask canister Md 1941, but it's bigger and it's missing the spare lens box inside the lid.

Marking inside the lid.

A compareson picture from left to right: German AUER 1940 (same size as the German Md 1941), FMP 1944 and a Romanian Sarogaz made Md 35 in very good condition.

M 74 romanian gas mask, probably the most common gas mask today in romania.

This is a nice example in it's original shipping box.

First of all is it your s or is it for sale, as I'm willing to buy it.

It's a Romanian gasmask, metallic container with a very nice looking Md 39b face mask and small filter (it might be the second type of Md 32 filter, but it's hard to tell from the top).

I have the same container, but I have one interrogation. Due to the flimsy nature of this container, was it used in the field, like the German one, or just a factory item?

It was a civilian gas mask, it was not used by the army, but I belive that a flimsy metal conatiner is better than a canvas bag.

This pictures were made with a scanner because my camera is broaken. I coulden't scan the markings on the gas mask so I will put photos when I will repair my camera.

The markings are on the gas mask: UCR M40 and the number 30.

This is another RSC Md 24 gas mask in fact a post war ARS was bought by Romania in 1924 and named RSC to clearly differentiate between the old ARS gas masks bought immediately after WWI (these have proven to have design faults in the long run the rubberized canvas reacted with oiled cloth under and degraded in a few years also the rubber straps were replaced by metal springs cover with cloth).

These gas masks were used in the inter war era for training and this one was probably repainted in the mid '30s and with the same occasion the original straps of the canister were replaced with German ones.
