There will be three more fairs this month (none of them in Bucharest):
- 14-15 October - in Bacau at the Iulian Antonescu Museum - 20-23 October - fair in Craiova during the "Days of Craiova" festival - 21 October - fair in Targu Mures |

That site doesn't announce all the fairs. For example, there will be a new fair in Bucharest, at the Sutu Palace, on 21-22 October (unless it rains).

Just returned from the fair - lots and lots of fakes, ridicolous prices (I am talking about TR items). The most "beautiful" of them all was the EUR 1,000 M36 tunic for an Infanterie Unteroffizier, with a fake Alu Pilot badge on the left pocket and the fake CCC in silver on the right one. Complete and utter garbage in terms of originality.
Best Regards to all, and have an excellent weekend, Al |

Yeah, same old high prices...I mean, do they really want to sell them or what!
For example: 80 euros for a ZB (VZ) bayonet.... or 100 euros for an m35 hungarian bayonet with scabbard...only the bayonet was reshaped into a small knife...!!!! C'mon !!! |

That is indeed a very good example of over inflated prices. Sometimes I think that these "dealers" have no sense of reality at all. Too bad for the hobby anyway. |

Well, most of the times you can just haggle with the vendors. Once they realise that you know exactly what the object is and how much it should cost, you'd be am,azed at how fast the price drops...
At the antiquities fair at Obor, last week, the only item I got around to purchasing was a communist waterbottle in pretty good shape. The seller was fixed in letting it go for at least 150 Ron (1,500,000 Rol ), but after a few minutes of asiduous haggling (I laughed at the offer, then faked disinterest, started to go away, got called back, indicated another stall and claimed they had a better price.. you know, "The Works") he started lowering the price, until I managed to purchase the item for a mere 15 Ron (150,000 Rol )... And't that's not a bad price for the waterbottle, since it's usually valued at at least twice that.. |

Hmm I see you are good at bargaining, I curious what type of water bottle you got for 15 ron (a picture would be great). Saturday at Sutu I bought for the same price a canteen from a different era (unfortunately I can't post a picture at the moment...). But I bought a Romanian aluminum canteen from WWII for 5 ron two weeks ago from a different place, so the items at sutu or any antic shop are always overpriced. |

I think you were lucky. Most sellers at these fairs will not reduce the price significantly, even if they see that you know what you're buying and they know the price is not right. Their goal is not to sell their goods to collectors, they target ignorant people, who don't know exactly what they are buying. |

Apparently, at the Kilipirim fair at Sala Dalles (October 24-29), there are also collectibles for sale, besides books and other things.
