Hello all!
Somebody knows details of attack by Romanian ships of the Soviet sub, probably, SC-211 22.11.41 in six - seven miles to east of cape Ak-Burnu ? |

I could only find a mention of an attack by a Sciutka class submarine on 30 November, near Varna. The convoy was made up of the cargo ships Czar Ferdinand and Carpati. As it was forming up, the sub closed in to attack but it hit a mine from a barrage launched during Operation Varna (8-21 October) by the NMS Regele Carol I, NMS Dacia and NMSAmiral Murgescu. IMO it could have been the Sc-211.

Hi, Victor! Can you tell me what is the source of the information you quote about Sc 211? I've heard that this convoy was attacked in the evening of November 30th, 1941 but at a rather southern position (area of Sozopol, Nessebar and Obzor). These attackes are considered to be an act of Sc 209 and Sc 204. But theoretically, it's possible that Sc 211 had tried to attack this convoy because it was supposed to stay on position at Varna's coast until the evening of November 30th, 1941. I would be grateful for any information you have. |
