Bessarabia map in progress, support & input needed

As you might know, such a map is under progress, with big support from D13th's pilots Toppy and Mytzu...

Please have a look at this map and comment here if anything really important is missing or wrong:
Explanation:
- red squares = airfields
- red line = roads
- black line = railway

PS: I know, many many places miss, but we are very limited when it comes to number of buildings...

Me and Toppy had to cut many airfields so what you see here is what we thought was "more" important then others. If you feel different pls don't be shy and say it this is the best chance to correct any mistakes I have made.

Mytzu, I am not shy, I think... I just want to be sure that nothing important misses. One AF I might add is Balta little N of Kotovsk, which was pretty big and is just outside the map.

Anyway, it seems that nobody here is interested in this except you and me

Ahh I was not refering to you when I said "don't be shy" but to the others who read this thread and might contribute
Too bad others are not so interested on the subject - however I must say little is known about romanian airfields during ww2 since there wasn't any such study made before (also about the 1941 campaign or early summer of 1944), I had to read a lot in order to get the data I have now and put it all in one basket (airfields, villages, major directions of attack/vital flow of men and equipment). It was an interesting subject for me, I can just hope others will also get interested in it and study even further.

That is pretty much the map Many villages and airfields had to be scraped due to game engine limitations - maximum number of objects in one map so it can still be playable. I did my best to find a good ballance between important locations and map spread.
What you see marked with red are the airfields - if you wish to have a more complete picture with all the airfields I was able to locate, I could search my old files and post it here.

That would be nice, Mytzu.

There are a few VVS airfields I cannot locate, like: Kubey-Tatar (perhaps the Rumanian name is Tatar-Copceac?).

Also, did Grosulovo or Grigoriopol have a Rumanian name as well?

A bit south of the map that apears in the picture should be Galati, i think this is too in the map becouse i see the bar is not slided tot the bottom. I know at Galati was an aviation training school and an aifield at Izmail, it was atacked in the first day of the war by IAR 37's, Eugen Marinescu describe this atack in Orizonturi Aviatice. Maby this helps.

Galati is in - indeed the map is a little bigger, has more to the south. Will try to find my old files and put up a pic with all airfields I was able to id.

Ismail is just on the southern border.

Something about the progress:
- all bridges are there (>600)
- all fields are there (looks natural now)
- staring with first objects now (airfields).
That's why I need to know about concrete runways, see thread in the other forum...

The squared shaped ones and with slightly different colour are the airfields. I can't find a better map so I will probably have to do it all over again but it will take time.

Hmm... I just noticed there are a few airfields missing from the map I posted, but most of them are there.

A small update - I placed a small round blue thingy ontop of the airfields (hope I didn't miss too many ). Also I recall there were at least 2 more airfields in Odessa region (SW) which do not appear in my map - can't remember what other airfields are missining from my map.

In Soviet and Russian sources I found many Rumanian sounding place names where combat took place in June-July 1941, like Trefeshti, Kishkoreni, Rukuleni, Fostuleni, Trusheshti, Stefaneshti, Kukoneshti-Veki, Rikshani-Tyrg, Kosteshti, Kuchneshti, Pechora, Tetukani (Tetkani?).
However, I couldn't find any of these names on current maps of Moldova (and Ukraine).

Can anyone identify at least some of these places?

Costesti is S-SW of Chisinau (you can see it on my map)
Other names from there sound familiar and I am sure I came across them - some could be in my map also. However the way I did it to id the correct villages - because sometimes I found more then 1 village with same name - was to read the whole description of the battle and then logically find the correct one - many times I had to put the name in the correct context.
