Hi
There some interesting (I thing) for some of you information. In July 2006 was edited a quite long story about Austro-(&)Hungarian Fokker D.VII. Text has been written by Rudolf Hofling (Austria) and Miroslav Wawrzynski (Poland) - co-operative works. All is about Austro-Hunagrian and later Hungarian fate of Fokker D.VII. This fighter was also in few samples produced by Austro-Hungary empire in Hungarian factores in the end of WW I. The information about preparation and production of D.VII in Austro-Hunagry are also detaily written. This fighter had been never incorporated into frontline k.u.k. Austro-Hunagry military service, anyway very soon he was used in combat by Hungarian Revolutionary 8 Red Squadron during the war of 1919 against Romanian and Czechoslovak army and air units. There were a few air dules, at least 2 with Romanian airplanes. In one case Hungarian D.VII had shot down Romanian - ex-Hungarian - UFAG C.I (161.156). As you better know the Romanian avaitin did not have many planes, and teh revolution had been smashed also by Romanian army. All text is in Polish with English photos suported by 20 black and white photos. I know that Romanian had captured several D.VII but I have not any photo of them (from Romanian service) only from Czechoslovak perod uses (one was captured by Czechoslovak in 1919). Text is supplemented by 4 colors side of D.VII and has in all 9 pages A-4. It was prined in Polish magazine Militaria XX wieku, no 4 (13)/2006, p. 4-12. Regards, Mirek wawrzynski |
