Can someone provide more info about the ship that appears in the two pictures below?

The seller said that it might be a minesweeper (I doubt that he's right). It's suspicious that it doesn't wear any army sign or cammouflage. What do you think?

So, you eventually bought the pair of photos...

Yes I've bought the photos although I'm still unsure if they worth the money I've paid for. I've considered that maybe (if the ship proves to be not war releated) I'll sell them to somebody intrested in ships.

Lansare Geta al 11-lea, ... 1944 (Launching Geta the 11-th ???)

Judging upon the photograph, it does not look like the ship is just being launched, but rather that the people there are busy doing something. Maybe it is not the name of the ship. There was an hydroplane named GETA being launched on the lake Siutghiol, near Constantza. I still have to do some digging to find out when exactly this happened and if they had 11 of them. It might be just GETA the II-nd.
Anyway, the water is almost dead flat, and there are some weeds on the shore, so the scene cannot be on the sea, but rather on the lake.

It is also possible to translate " the 11th launching of Getta" ? .

If so, could be launching trials with Getta hidroplane from a boat .

Found another image from the set. This combined with the other images makes me think that it might be a civil ship after all and that the name GETA II (or 11) could be just very close (but not releated at all) with the famous hydroplane.

More to the point, there is another image showing "CALTUNA" ship and judging from the structure it seems to be the same type as "GETA II".

Both images are from E-bay.

Now that you added the "Caltuna" this makes clear to me it's no relationship whatsoever with the Getta hidroplane. That "Geta al 11-lea" fits well with an idea of several sister ships, of which "Geta" was launched the 11-th (or the II-nd?)

Judging upon the riverine surroundings, this might be indeed a launching on the Danube, possibly from the Galatz Shipyard. Perhaps someone with knowledge on romanian shipyards can tell us which yard did such identic ships in that time, and for which purpose. They look like open sea fishing (?) ships or something similar!
